It's simple as this: a well-exercised canine companion is a happy companion. Recent reports show our nation is becoming increasingly obese and out of shape. Americans are not getting enough exercise. The same affliction affects our dogs. The solution is to open more exercise areas for our furry friends.

The Albuqueruqe City Council passed legislation on August 19th, 2003 [read bill] requesting Mayor Chavez appoint a task force for the stated purpose of opening an exercise facility in the Disrict 8 area. Yet the process soon stalled after this. K-9 Kids representatives pleaded with the Mayor and representatives in his administration to follow the recommendations of the Council, but they have been unresponsive. We ask all supporters to sign the online petition and provide input into this important legislative process. REMEMBER: Over 40 percent of registered voters in our area have at least one "K-9 Kid." Let the Mayor and our Councilors know how you will be voting in the next election.
